Terms of service

Terms of Service

Effective 20 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and TrueUnit (“TrueUnit,” “we,” “us”) covering trueunit.co and every plan on it. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, ask us at support@trueunit.co before you rely on it.

1.What TrueUnit is — and is not

TrueUnit is a costing worksheet for people developing physical products. It turns numbers you supply — a factory quote, tooling, freight, a duty rate — into estimates: a landed unit cost, a quantity curve, and suggested prices.

Every output is an estimate for product-development pricing. TrueUnit does not provide customs, legal, tax, accounting, or brokerage advice, and an output is not a customs entry. You supply the duty rate; we never classify your product or invent an HTS code. Two similar products can carry different rates, rates change, and real entries include costs a worksheet cannot know. You are responsible for verifying every figure — with a licensed customs broker where it matters — before you price, quote, or import based on it.

2.Your account

You need an account to save SKUs. Keep your credentials to yourself and tell us if you suspect someone else is using them. You must be at least 16. Use the service lawfully; do not probe, overload, scrape at scale, resell access, or reverse-engineer the service.

3.Plans, billing, and refunds

The current plans are:

  • Free — the public worksheet and one saved SKU on your account. The worksheet never goes behind the paywall.
  • Product Pass — $39, one time — full Workshop access for 90 days. It does not auto-renew; it simply ends.
  • Workshop — $19/month or $149/year — a recurring subscription, up to 10 saved SKUs. Cancel any time; access runs to the end of the paid period.

The Product Pass carries a 30-day refund: if it is not what you needed, write to support@trueunit.co within 30 days of purchase and we refund it. When a paid plan ends or is cancelled, your saved sheets remain readable, editable, and exportable — a downgrade never takes your numbers away; it only stops new saves beyond the free limit. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice; changes never apply retroactively to a period you already paid for.

4.Your data

Your SKUs, quotes, and worksheets are yours. You give us only the license needed to store and display them back to you and to operate the service. We do not sell your data and we do not use your costing data to advise other customers. See the Privacy Policy for the details. You can export your sheets and delete your account at any time.

5.No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that estimates are correct, that the service is uninterrupted, or that it fits your particular import situation.

6.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, TrueUnit is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or business — including losses from pricing or importing decisions made using an estimate. Our total liability for all claims together is capped at the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some jurisdictions limit these exclusions; where they do, these apply to the maximum extent permitted.

7.Indemnification

If a third party brings a claim against us arising from your content or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result.

8.Termination

You can stop using TrueUnit and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or harm the service, and we may discontinue the service with reasonable notice — in which case you get a fair window to export your sheets, and any prepaid, unused period is refunded.

9.Changes to these terms

When we change these terms in a way that matters, we post the new version here and note the new effective date; for significant changes we email account holders. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

10.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes belong to the state or federal courts located there. Both sides waive the right to participate in a class action to the extent the law allows.
